McDade County Park
Reclaimed from coal mining terrain in the 1970s, McDade is now a popular leisure destination for the city of Scranton. The 200 acre (81 ha) park features hiking and nature trails, gardens and an arboretum, a swimming pool and sports facilities. Sleigh rides and cross-country skiing are popular in the winter.
